A steam train will once again be taking to the tracks next month taking passengers from Whitehead to Newry on a nostalgic trip down memory lane.
Local history enthusiasts of the Old Newry Society have joined with the Southern Area Hospice to provide an exciting day out for all the family on Saturday 22 April.
Leaving at 11.30am by coach from Newry Railway Station, the first stop will be the Ulster Transport Museum at Cultra where you can step aboard historic trains, buses and other forms of travel including our very own Bessbrook Tram.
After a few hours of investigation, you will travel on to Whitehead in County Antrim to get a real life stem train with antique carriages to take you on the two-hour chug back to Newry Station arriving at 8.20pm.
If you prefer an alternative to the Transport Museum then you can join separate groups going to visit Carrickfergus Castle as well as a tour of Carrickgergus itself complete with lunch.
As well as the organised tours you can always just join everyone for the steam train ride from Whitehead to Newry (Passengers must make their own way to Whitehead).

12:35 to catch the 13:55 to Whitehead, arriving at 14:30
