Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson, Councillor Roisin Mulgrew held a reception for the Sacred Heart Grammar School Netball teams to honour their outstanding double achievements of the intermediate team who won the Northern Ireland Cup and the senior team who won both the Northern Ireland League and Cup.

Speaking at the reception, Councillor Mulgrew said, “It is wonderful to see a school from our district winning these prestigious titles. It takes hard work and commitment for the teams to achieve such fantastic wins and I would also take this opportunity to thank the parents and mentors for their input which was vital to this victory. 

Councillor Mulgrew continued, “This is an important milestone for these young netballers who have competed and won at regional level. There is no doubt that with their dedication, commitment and sporting ability, they will continue to improve and achieve yet more success in competition for their School”.
