Local man Mark Goodman has pledged his committed to run this year’s SSE Airtricity Dublin Marathon which takes places on Sunday 29th September in aid of Newry Cancer Research.

Mark, who only started running in February, is undertaking his first marathon challenge and pledges to raise vital funds to support the work of Cancer Research UK in Northern Ireland.

Speaking about the challenge Mark commented “as a well-known local charity who raises funds and campaigns for every cancer suffer and their families to find a cure of cancer I am delighted to be running this year’s Dublin marathon in aid of Newry Cancer Research and support the scientists based in Belfast.   This is my first marathon and would greatly appreciate everyone’s support so please donate whatever you can as every penny counts.

Speaking on behalf of Newry Cancer Research, treasurer Paddy O’Hanlon sincerely thanked Mark for choosing Newry Cancer Research as his nominated charity. With just under 26 days to go the committee wishes Mark all the best with training preparations and taking part on the big day. Paddy stated that running 26 miles is a huge undertaking and hoped that everyone would support Marks efforts as he undertakes his first marathon.
