Newry Drama Festival is back in Newry Town Hall after a stint by the sea down in Warrenpoint in 2016 due to renovation works taking place at Newry Town Hall.
This year will be the 65th festival and it will run from Friday 24 March until Saturday 1 April with nine plays from drama groups throughout Ireland.
The festival run in association with the Quays, Newry will see curtains up at Newry Town Hall Nightly at 7.30 pm (Doors 7pm).
Eighteen Drama Societies applied to compete in Newry in 2017 and nine have been selected. Whilst many of the plays are well known, some are new to the Festival.
Festival Chairman Gerry McNulty said that this has enabled the Committee to produce a well balanced and entertaining Programme.
The adjudicator will be Scott Marshall, G.O.D.A. (Guild of Drama Adjudicators) who has adjudicated Newry Drama Festival on three previous occasions and audiences will recall his enlightening and entertaining adjudications.
The Committee is delighted to have Scott back to Newry to adjudicate the 65th Festival.
