Four plays that competed in the recent Newry Drama Festival have qualified for the RTE All –Ireland Drama Festival in Athlone which runs from tomorrow night.

The plays are “Glengarry Glen Ross” by David Mamet staged by Dundalk Theatre Workshop;  “One Man Two Guvnors” by Richard Bean presented by Prosperous Dramatic Society by Co. Kildare; Tom Murphy’s well known play “The Gigli Concert” presented by Palace Players, Fermoy Co. Cork and  “Old Times” by Harold Pinter presented by Ballyshannon Drama Society.

Newry’s Adjudicator Tony Rushforth expressed his delight at the extremely high standard of performances at the Festival.   

Padraig Mcintyre is the Athlone adjudicator.

The  RTE All-Ireland Drama Festival Finals will be held in the Deane Crowe Theatre Athlone,  April 28 – May 6 2016.
