Chief Executive of Southern Area Hospice, Liz Cuddy has received an OBE in the 2018 Queen's Birthday Honours List. Liz, a board member of Radius Housing received the award for services to the social and affordable housing sector in NI.

Speaking of her recent award, Liz Cuddy said: "It was a huge surprise to receive an OBE. I am delighted and feel greatly honoured and privileged. It is however a reflection of the hard work and dedication of many people originally in Helm Housing Association and more recently in Radius."
A Hospice spokesperson added "The Queen’s Birthday Honours List recognises the achievements of a wide range of extraordinary people and the organisation wishes to extend sincere congratulations to our CEO, Liz Cuddy on this outstanding accolade."
Other locals to receive awards included an OBE for Eamonn O'Hare from O'Hare and McGovern
for services to the construction industry and entrepreneurship and an MBE for James McCrum
for services to the Rathfriland Farmer’s Co-op Society Ltd and the farming community in South Down.
Joseph Berry was also awarded a BEM for services to music and the community in Newry.
