If the money is resting in your account and you want to involve yourself in ecumenical matters then Inis Mór on the Aran Islands is the place to be next March. You might even get the odd cup of tea and there certainly will be lots of lovely girls there.

The annual TedFest on the Aran Island of Inis Mór, which becomes the legendary ‘Craggy Island’ for a weekend of high-jinx every February, has now been moved back to its spiritual home in the calendar: Thursday March 3 to Sunday March 6 2022.  The event was due to take place on October 14-17 but with many restrictions still in place, it has been decided to wait it out until March 2022.  Tickets are now available on WWW.TEDFEST.ORG and a further 100 tickets have been released.

In a statement issued by TedFest, the Founder Peter Philips said “Fate has dealt us a frustrating hand with our beloved leaders deciding to fully lift restrictions the week after we had planned to do Tedfest in October. Down with that sort of thing!  So, we have taken guidance from above. Restricting numbers to 60%, and being sent to bed at 11.30pm, does not fit comfortably with the Tedfest ethos. Therefore, we have decided to move Tedfest back to its spiritual home in the calendar: Thursday March 3rd  to Sunday  March 6th 2022.  We would be delighted to roll tickets over to the new date but also happy to issue a refund to our faithful flock if the new date doesn’t suit. Careful now!”

Highlights of Tedfest include the annual Lovely Girls Competition, Ted's Got Talent, The Celibate Olympics, Matchmaking with Nellie, Priests Dance Off, The Nuns & Neon Old Grey Whistle Test Rave, A Fistful of Mustard -The Shootout of Giant Tools, The Pan Asian Zen-Off, the Father Ted Prizeless Quiz, the Craggy Cup, Blind Date and lots more.  The music line-up is always a triumph at TedFest and Trad for Trocaire brings out the dancing priests and raises some money for a good cause that won’t just ‘rest in our account’

Original cast members Fr Damo (Joe Rooney) and Eoin McLove (Patrick McDonell) are also firm favorites at the event!  Willie or no willie, Craggy Island's most beloved singer always draws a crowd – probably about seventeen million!  Competition can be rife for the coveted Lovely Girlstitle and organisers have lovely girls practice their lovely talents, lovely laughs, cone walking and general loveliness at all times.

All activity takes place at the Aran Islands hotel on Inis Mor which has the space to accommodate the Music Stages, the Craggy Craic Den and full extended line-up.  Fr Ted, Ireland’s best loved TV Show is celebrated with copious cups of tea and sandwiches, a lot of red tank-tops, nuns on the run, priests on the pull, map-cap costumes and of course a bishop getting a kick up the arse - Tedfest is about as wild and wonderful as it gets!
