Thursday sees a major conference in Newry designed to help parents support their children in the online and mobile environment.

"Your Kids Online Reputation Matters (What Parents need to know)" is taking place in Bellinis in Newry this Thursday 21st of November from 2pm to 5pm.

The conference also aims to help practitioners who work with children and young people within the health and social care environment cope with the ever expanding pressures and demands of communications in our digital world.

The brainchild of SDLP Councillor Connaire McGreevy the event has attracted a host of internationally known figures from the world of education and digital technology.

Councillor Connaire Mcgreevy was elected in 2011 and is the youngest councillor on Newry and Mourne Council. The keynote speaker will be Dr. Emma Short a Chartered Psychologist and Senior research fellow based at the University of Bedfordshire. She is also Co-Director of the National Centre for Cyber Stalking Research and works with individuals who have suffered harassment in on-line situations.
