St Patrick's Day will once again see the annual Conradh na Gaeilge collection for the Irish Language take place throughout Newry.
The collection has been taken place since 1897!

Funds raised in Newry go to an Ulster Gaeltacht scholarship fund and towards heating/utility costs at Gaeláras Mhic Ardghail. Bígí fial.
Bailiúchán Náisiúnta Chonradh na Gaeilge ag tarlúint fud fad na tíre ar 16/17 Márta.
Volunteer Collectors always welcome - contact gaelarasmhicardghhail@gmail.com
Thosaigh Conradh na Gaeilge an feachtas le Lá Saoire Náisiúnta a dhéanamh as Lá 'le Pádraig.
Only in 1909 did the Gaelic League-led campaign to make Saint Patrick's Day a National Holiday succeed but the Collection itself has been taken up in Newry since 1897.
