Newry, Mourne and Down District Council has created beautiful Christmas Wreath Making Packs that will be distributed to a number of groups in the Bessbrook and Crossmaglen area to help improve people’s health and wellbeing during these challenging times.

Council Chairperson Councillor Laura Devlin said “These festive Christmas Wreath making packs are an excellent initiative that will allow people to be creative whilst improving their health and wellbeing. The production and distribution of the packs is a result from funding from the Department for Communities through the Bessbrook and Crossmaglen Areas at Risk Programmes.”
Cllr Devlin added, “The same funding scheme also recently issued a range of Christmas Art and Craft Packs and earlier this year delivered a range of activities and training for many in the area. For example, the Programme delivered great opportunities for young people to meet up outdoors and make new friends in the Kids Summer Fishing camps and Kids Summer Fitness camps, and courses for adults were also promoted such as International Level 2 Certificate in Manicure and Pedicure, Level 3 Understanding Speech and Language Communication Needs and Wellness Time for Me. All the activities took place online or in line with COVID 19 restrictions in place, and I extend congratulations to all those who took part and achieved certificates!”
