The event has been organised and sponsored by Glór na nGael, the national organisation which supports Irish-speaking families.

Áinín Ní Eachaidh, development officer for Glór na nGael says; “this is a very exciting time for Irish speakers who have chosen Irish-medium education and to raise their children through Irish.

"Not only is the Irish-medium education sector going from strength to strength and the number of families who speak Irish at home is ever-increasing, but organisations such as Glór na nGael are able to support children and their parents who speak Irish by providing high-quality Irish Language events such as this for families to socialise and enjoy themselves through the medium of Irish."

Daidí na Nollag will arrive in the Gaelarás in Newry on the 13th December at 11am and there will be plenty going on; music, arts, crafts, a few festive nibbles and of course a chance to meet the man himself and receive a gift.

This is a family-orientated event so parents are welcome to come along. This event is suitable for children aged 3-10 and costs only £3 per child. Please book your place by contacting Áinín Ní Eachaidh on 07749126949 or ainin@glornangael.ie
