Improvements in progress on pathways popular with walkers and residents in the Derrybeg area have been welcomed by Derrybeg Community Association.

Welcoming the scheme, chairperson of Derrybeg Community Association, Stephen Murney said "We are delighted to welcome the start of this improvement work which is great news for the local community.
"This is an area popular with residents and dog walkers alike. Given the difficult times we live in going for a simple daily walk can help people greatly with their physical and mental well-being."
Murney added "Sadly over the years the pathway along Sandy's has fallen into a state of neglect with large sections worn away over time.
"When it's finished this scheme will greatly improve the strength and quality of the path surface and will raise the safety for all who use it.
The Derrybeg community worker concluded "Thankfully the resurfacing being carried out will greatly enhance the area which will benefit everyone, both residents and visitors"
