Enjoyable Morning At Keady Blitz

Our U8 & U10 Hurlers attended the Blitz in Keady this weekend and a good mornings hurling and fun was had by all. Buíochas to Keady Hurling Club and all involved in organising the event. Our gratitude to coaches and parents who helped with transport and ensuring our young people had an enjoyable and safe day.

Comghairdeas

Craobh Rua hurlers Conor Reavey (U16) and Tiarnan O'Hare (Senior) represented Armagh in their respective Ulster Poc Fada finals in Glenarm last week. It was a great experience for both hurlers as they participated in their first ever Ulster Poc Fada Final which takes on a gruelling mountain course and whilst they performed admirably they didn’t win their way through to the Sll Ireland Final on Annaverna Mountain in Louth in early August.

We wish all those representing Ulster in both Hurling and Camogie in the forthcoming finals all the best.

PIPS SafeTalk training

Míle buíochas to all who participated in our *PIPS SAFETALK and Suicide awareness* Workshop. PIPS Newry and Mourne through their staff delivered  a valuable awareness programme for our coaches/committee members/helpers. We appreciate the efforts of all involved in the event organised by Club Officer Órla McCaul

Under 16 Match Report

Our U16 team returned to Armagh League action on Wednesday night with a fine performance against a talented Killeavy side.Craobh Rua  were happy to be welcoming back Seán and Oisin after their footballing duties with the county and the team put in a very fine overall performance to win out against our neighbours. Comhghairdeas to both sets of players on providing a skilful entertaining and sporting game.

Craobh Rua  Host  P4 School Blitz

Craobh Rua hosted another Schools  Blitz  at our club. This time it was the turn of the Primary 4 boys to come around and enjoy a mornings hurling. The boys from each of the threelocal schools were mixed together into different county teams and practiced some skills before playing a few “Go Games”. It was great to see over 45 young boys giving it a real good go and getting the most from a new experience, as for most of them this was their first time either hurling or being in Craobh Rua.

Coaches Oisin, Ryan and Fiachra reminded the players that if they felt they enjoyed themselves to come along on Monday nights to our club sessions which take place from 6:30-7:30pm. Míle buíochas to the schools, their teachers and assistants for once again making this a successful event. Also it’s great to see the field in good hurling condition again so thanks to Gavin Powell of the Grass Cutters Union for this weeks “trim & chop!”.
