Newry Musical Feis 2013 concluded yesterday with Irish Dance Confined competitions.
In it's 85th Year, the Feis still attracts thousands of entrants from Primary and Secondary schools throughout the district.
One young winner at yesterday's closing Irish Dancing competitions was Dearbhla White who achieved three medals, a gold in Advanced Slip Jig, a silver in Light Jig and a silver in the Advanced Reel.
St Mary's High School had a very successful year in the Speech and Drama section with wins in Poetry, Good Conversation and Public Speaking. They also won the Secondary Schools Cup (Shannon Mulholland); Plaque for Most Promising Speaker (Emma Gaul); Good Converstaion Cup (Emma Gaul, Aisling Sarah Magee, Leah Mooney, Alannah Stephens) and the Public Speaking Cup (Emma Gaul, Maeve Murtagh, Aisling Sarah Magee, Alannah Stephens).
