Following the announcement of a renewed lockdown from 26 December by the NI Executive, Carlingford Lough Ferry have cancelled their planned Christmas sailing schedule.

Commenting on the announcement Commercial Director, Irene Hamilton said ‘We’re incredibly disappointed that once again, we must suspend our plans to reopen the car ferry service, but given the cross border nature of the service, and the recent increase in COVID 19 cases across the island of Ireland, we have no option but to take this difficult decision and play our part in reducing the spread of the virus’.
Carlingford Lough Ferry operates between Greenore in Co. Louth and Greencastle in Co. Down. The varied COVID travel restrictions in place in recent months across Ireland and Northern Ireland have proved challenging for the service, and severely impacted regular operations this year.
