A campaign has been launched to raise £4950 towards access improvements and the provision of a lift at Gaeláras Mhic Ardghail.  Classes won't re-commence until the improvement works are completed.

Already the Irish Investment Fund and Newry, Morne and Down Council have approved £ 60K towards the project as well as donations from participants at the Irish classes but an additional £5K is needed.

To help the campaign a fundraising colour magazine has been published by the Newry Committee Glór na nGael offering a picture-profile of Irish language activities in the Newry and wider Oirghialla district in 2017, with some articles in Irish and English. A copy of the magazine is available for a donation of £5 and can be ordered only via and picked up at the Currency Exchange 12 Hill Street Newry. It would make a perfect stocking filler for Christmas and presents a positive image of the Irish speaking and learning community in Newry.

Classes will not recommence in the Gaeláras until the construction of the lift has been completed by Johnstone Builders and passed by our architects, Milligan, Reside and Larkin.

Tá síntiúis cheana againn ó chuid de na foghlaimeoirí flaithiúla atá sna ranganna agus dá bharr tá £220 sa sparán mar atá. Tús maith...
