Police in Newry are appealing for information following a report of a burglary at commercial premises in the Merchant’s Quay area of the city yesterday.

Between 00:45am and 11:40am on Tuesday 11th August, it was reported that entry was gained to the rear of a restaurant in the area. It was reported that damage was caused to a door during the incident, with a sum of money, a small television set and earphones were taken from the premises.

Damage was also caused to a freezer inside the premises during the incident.

Enquiries are continuing and police would appeal to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area at the time of the incident to contact them on 101 quoting 685 11/08/20.  An online report can be submitted using the non-emergency reporting form via WWW.PSNI.POLICE.UK   Crimestoppers can also be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at CRIMESTOPPERS-UK.ORG
