2020 was going to be the year for the 21st annual Newry Business Charity Christmas Dinner but unfortunately due to regulations surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic it now can't take place.

The event usually held in December in the Canal Court Hotel always saw a massive toy mountain formed in the hotel foyer thanks to the incredible generosity year after year from the local business community. Since the dinner has started it has raised almost £1.5 Million with over £100K raised last year alone!

Being unable to hold the event as usual has left the organisers with a huge worry - 'What will our less fortunate children find to fulfil their dreams on Christmas morning?'

With this in mind, the Newry Charity Christmas Dinner Committee has (as it has done for the last 20 years) been working feverishly in the background to ensure that no child in the greater Newry area will go without a toy this Christmas.

The famous Toy Mountain will rise again this year in the Canal Court Hotel, with your help.

There are two methods of giving:

1.     A financial donation via a Go Fund Me page. Click the link here Newry Christmas Charity Dinner Fund 2020

2.     Drop Off Points to leave toys:

  • Cahill Bros, Hill Street, Newry.
  • Newry Reporter, Margaret Street, Newry.
  • Jack Murphy Jewellers, Hill Street, Newry.
  • Bradley Estate Agents offices in Newry, Warrenpoint and Rostrevor.
  • The Quays Shopping Centre, Newry (Customer Service Desk).
  • CGDM Group Ltd, Carnbane Business Park, Newry.

You can also order toys online and have them delivered directly to the premises of CGDM Group Ltd, Unit 1, 20 Derryboy Road, Carnbane Business Park, Newry, BT35 6QH.

The committee are asking you to make a special effort to help them in this most worthy of endeavors. They ask you to give as if it were your own children facing a cold empty Christmas.

Monies raised will go to the St Vincent de Paul Society to be spent on appropriate toys.

The St Vincent de Paul Society and the Salvation Army will distribute the toys to those in need this Christmas.

The Newry Charity Christmas Dinner Committee has enjoyed the generous support of the Greater Newry business community for over 20 years and this year more than ever they are asking you to dig deep for our children.
