Church services resume this weekend after a three month gap.

It will be quite a different experience with hand sanitising and social distancing measures in place to ensure the safety of the congregation but many will be glad to be able to resume their regular worship.

Newry Cathedral Parish are resuming their Masses for the public from today 4 July with a one way system in place in all churches with the parish advising anyone at risk or with symptoms to stay away.

Announcing the move a spokesperson said "We want to welcome everyone to the celebration of Mass, but please do not come to church if you have been identified as a person at high risk or if you believe yourself to be vulnerable; Had confirmed or suspected Covid-19 with symptoms within the last 20 days; Been in contact with someone with confirmed or suspected Covid-19 during the last 20 days or have symptoms associated with Covid-19: A high temperature, A new, continuous cough or loss or change to your sense of smell or taste."

Newry Methodist Church in Sandys Street had been hosting drive-in services this past few weeks but tomorrow will be their first return to their Church building with a Service at 11am.

St Catherine's Dominican Masses will resume from Monday 6 July but you need to book at the Lectio Centre either by phone or in person.
