The Newry.ie news desk has just had an important email from the Real Santa to ask us to let everyone know that he will definitely be arriving on Christmas Eve as normal as he and Mrs Claus and all his elves will be among the first to get the new Covid 19 vaccine. Rudolph and the reindeers have kicked up a fuss about the vaccine because they say they don’t need it but Santa will take no chances.

Santa is looking forward to his Zoom catch-ups with local children with the assistance of the wonderful people at the Brain Injury Foundation.
Santa is looking forward to his Zoom catch-ups with local children with the assistance of the wonderful people at the Brain Injury Foundation.

Santa also says that this year, because of all the restrictions, he has asked his friends in the Brain Injury Foundation to help him get connected through the Internet and so mammies and daddies can make contact with Santa’s elf Daryll to organise a special face to face chat on line with the Real Santa for their children. Santa says he does not know anything about Facebook, Instagram and Zoom and all these newly fangled things but elf Daryll is very switched on and he will keep Santa right. There is no use asking Mrs Claus because she is even worse than Santa on the computer. She still thinks a mouse is something that runs around the house.

Santa is very keen to meet up with all his closest friends, especially children with special needs.  Because of all the work The Brain Injury Foundation is doing to help Santa this year he is asking mummies and daddies to make a donation of £5 per child to the Foundation. There is no charge for children with special needs. All money raised will go direct to the Brain Injury Foundation.

Your child or all the children in your family will have a dedicated on line visit to the Real Santa which will be as similar to a face to face visit as possible. You will receive at least 24 hours notice of the visit which will normally be offered between the hours of 4pm and 9pm. Where possible we will try to give you a time and day of your choice but cannot guarantee this as there is just one real Santa.

You can pay / donate by visiting THEBRAININJURYFOUNDATION

Santa asks mammies and daddies to check out The Brain Injury Foundation Fundraising Facebook page for full details or to contact elf Darryl by emailing fundraiser@thebraininjuryfoundation.com or on Facebook messenger.
