The team clocked up 862 km during the month of October which is the distance of Northern Ireland’s perimeter and generated £1170 for Action Mental Health.

Some of the Newry Specsavers staff took time out to meet local Action Mental Health team members and present them with monies raised for the charity.

Action Mental Health changes the lives of people living with mental ill-health and promotes resilience and well-being to future generations.  The organization helps smash the stigma of mental illness for all sections of the community.

The charity is multi-faceted and offers a wide range of services including its nine New Horizons programme available across Northern Ireland. It helps people benefit from a variety of personal development, vocational skills and employability training options including accredited qualifications and work placements. Other AMH services include therapeutic counselling for children, young people, adults and families, including services for the deaf community.
