This weeks 24 Hour Spinathon at St Paul’s High School, Bessbrook was an outstanding success involving the pupils, staff, parents and community of St Paul’s in a huge whole-school effort to raise awareness and much needed funds for local cancer charities.

Organised by Head of Year 10, Mr Bill Geoghegan, and supported by his team of St Paul’s Spinners, the student foyer was transformed into a spinning studio for twenty-four hours as the team went hell for leather to keep spinning through the school day, into the night, and back again into the next day.
Principal, Mr Jarlath Burns, paid a special tribute to the dedication of Bill Geoghegan in conceiving the idea of a 24-hour spinathon and putting into action a major milestone in St Paul’s history.
Micky Brady MLA and his colleagues were on site to take the opportunity to show support and the MLA praised the school for its continuous support of local charities and for the huge contribution it makes to the entire community.
