This Friday night sees Newry's Halloween celebrations taking place at the Albert Basin and the events will run from 6pm to 9pm.

Family Fun Event

This Halloween come along to Newry’s frightful spook-tacular FREE FAMILY FUN EVENT which will take place on Friday 31st October from 6:00pm – 9:00pm at the Albert Basin Quayside, Newry. 

Open Air Concert

Providing the soundtrack for your Halloween open air concert will be the Housem8s and The Rockits with Gene Fitzpatrick hosting compere on the evening. 

Thriller Flash Mob

SRC drama students will be performing during our Halloween celebrations to the sound track of Michael Jackson “Thriller” the flash mob is a must see!

Pumpkin Carving

Children will have the opportunity to design / create their very own scary pumpkin to take home.  Please be advised numbers will be limited and children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. 

Creepy Colouring Competition

Children can enjoy arts and crafts by entering into the ‘Creepy Colouring Competition’

Spot Prizes to be won!

 Halloween Photo Booth

The Costume Corner will be in attendance to add that something special to our Halloween celebrations and capture memories of all the scary but funny faces that will make sure you will get a good laugh while dressing up and leave with a photo.

On Street Entertainment

Face painting, spooky tattoos, Ghosts, Ghouls and Witches on-street entertainment, freestyle fire show / juggling and so much more.......


The celebrations will conclude with an electrifying fireworks extravaganza. 

Fancy Dress

This year as part of our Halloween Celebrations we are encouraging as many people to really get into the Halloween spirit and come along on the evening in fancy dress to be in with a chance of winning a range of fabulous cash prizes to the value of £500.  Enter into one of the three categories junior, adult, group. Categories are open to all.  Judging will take place during registration on the evening from 6:30pm – 7:00pm inside the Quays Shopping Centre.   

Community Safety Partnership look forward to a safe Halloween

Newry and Mourne Policing & Community Safety Partnership are supporting a range of activities throughout the district this Halloween period to ensure all members of the community enjoy a safer Halloween

The Mayor of Newry and Mourne Councillor Daire Hughes paid tribute to the tireless work of volunteers who, with the support of the Policing & Community Safety Partnership, develop and deliver projects across the District.  

Mayor Cllr. Hughes stated “Tackling antisocial behaviour is a key component to hosting successful Halloween events and many community associations and youth groups have been working within their communities over the past number of weeks to ensure a safe and fun Halloween is had by all”

Cllr. Andy Moffett, Chair of Newry and Mourne Policing & Community Safety Partnership added “We hope that everyone can enjoy themselves in a safe and responsible manner this Halloween at one of the many events through out the District. There are lots of options on offer as PCSP funded events”
