A reader has contacted Newry.ie to point out that despite all the difficulties with Covid-19 and its restrictions, that the kindness and thoughtfullness of local people still shines through.
The reader explains "On Thursday last a neighbour of ours, an older lady fell on the footpath near Tesco. A lorry driver lifted her up and offered to take her home. She refused and he helped her across the street."

"Two women who happened to see what had happened helped her walk back home. Then one of these women called to our house to make sure we were able to take over care for our neighbour who had a large lump on her head! We were able to apply ice and contact her family.
"The next day one of the women - they were sisters, arrived at our door in the pouring rain to check if our friend was ok! "
As our reader adds "There are such good people in our town!" something that we at Newry.ie completely endorse.
