Over 1,000 runners have registered for this year’s Novosco 10k Grand Prix so far, and last year’s runner up, Patricia Brown, of Newry City Runners Club, is currently in third position. Tommy Hughes of Termoneeny Running Club leads the table with just four races remaining in the 17-race series. Tommy heads the rankings based on the runners’ age-graded scores, with 95 percent.

Sponsored by IT company Novosco and organised by Glenn Grant, owner of electronic timing chip company ChampionChip Ireland, the Novosco 10k Grand Prix features individual runners of all ages and ability as well as six-person club teams.

Cash prizes are awarded to the top 25 finalists and top five clubs. A cash prize will also be awarded to the top three runners across the finish line on race day at each of the 17 races*.

Unique to the Novosco 10k Grand Prix, each race is timed and age-graded using an aggregate scoring system meaning the series is carefully designed to be mindful of gender, age and ability.

Each runner’s ranking is updated in an overall leaderboard after each race. Runners must complete six of the 18 races to feature on the official leaderboard.

The 2019 Novosco 10k Grand Prix is supported by Forestside Shopping Centre and Athletics Northern Ireland.
