Slieve Gullion Runners have been running now for 5 year's  this July after being  formed in July 2014 by founder Dermot Winter who seen the need for a running club in South Armagh  to help and support runners of all abilities. The Club which is based at Slieve Gullion Forest Park  a beautiful location on our doorstep and we are very proud of it and would encourage very one to visit. The club has grew strongly each year attracting runners from all over the Newry Moure Down area. Slieve Gullion Runners is a very friendly club that likes to help all runners to give respect, support, encouragement and equality to our fellow athletes regardless of how quickly or slowly they choose to run and see all our runners no matter if taking on an event alone or as a team we are all part of  #teamSGR.
The club has come a long way and has seen many of it's members taking part in many events all over Ireland and all over the world that also helps promote our sport and our area and the pride in talking about the club and area too. We would encourage everyone to join a club not just to help with running but the friends you make and for the great family spirit we have at our club. The club welcomes everyone to come join us on our Monday Club run at Slieve Gullion Park from 6:45pm and give us a ‘no commitment’ try. If you do then the chances are that you will come back because not only do we support and encourage everyone, whether experienced or new to running but we are a very friendly and social club as well.
We at Slieve Gullion Runners are proud to promote our sport of running and will continue to build on from our last great 5 year's from training and events we hold and  will encourage more people to get fit and build great friendships in our sport and club. We are also very lucky to have Grounded Expresso Bars  on board as Club Sponsors and who have been our club sponsor from when the club was founded and we thank them for their outstanding support. A big thank you to Dermot Winters who not only formed a club but a very big running family.
