Commenting Richard said “I am now based in Newry after working most of my life in Dublin and Kilkenny as a Bespoke Joiner, later on developed a career as a Support Worker with Cuan Mhuire Newry (Addiction Treatment Centre Newry). I was born in the west of Ireland, Co. Mayo then moved to Co. Carlow as a young boy and developed my artistic talents in school and college through creative media such as oil, acrylic, pastel, ink, and wood sculpting work. Growing up in a very creative family was great, I learnt a lot about different styles and developed them through Art College. I would describe my work as surrealism in it content, very much outsider art."

With news of the extension of the Exhibition, Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson, Councillor Naomi Bailie said, “I would encourage everyone interested in Art to go and view the Exhibition. Newry has a long tradition of supporting the visual arts and I wish Richard every success with this venture”.

The Exhibition can be viewed office hours Monday – Friday, and Saturdays 9.00 a.m. – 3.30 p.m. up to end January 2016.
