Theatre goers at this years Newry Drama Festival in Warrenpoint, will recall the wonderful performance of “Glengarry Glen Ross” by David Mamet presented by Dundalk Theatre Workshop. The Play won Newry Festival and qualified for the RTE Drama Festival Finals held in Athlone.

In Athlone, the Dundalk Group won the Abbey Theatre Award that includes an invitation from the Board of The Abbey, Dublin, to present their winning Play in the Abbey Theatre (Peacock Stage) opening Thursday 19th May 2016..

 Dundalk Theatre Workshop have also qualified for the Ulster Drama Festival Finals  held from Monday 14th – Saturday 19th May 2016. The Finals will be held in the Theatre at the Mill, Newtownabbey.    

Dundalk Theatre Workshop is a group at the cutting edge of Amateur Theatre in Ireland.

The Group have now appeared five times at the All-Ireland Finals in Athlone. 

 Four of the Plays presented at this year’s Newry Drama Festival qualified for the RTE ALL-Ireland Festival in Athlone. 

The Plays are “Glengarry Glen Ross” by David Mamet, staged by Dundalk Theatre workshop. “One Man Two Guvnors” by Richard Bean presented by Prosperous Dramatic Society, Co Kildare; Tom Murphy’s well-known play “The Gigli Concert”, performed by Palace Players, Fermoy, Co. Cork  and “Old Times” by Harold Pinter, presented by Ballyshannon Dramatic Society.
