The John Bell Gallery in the Sean Hollywood Arts Centre is the venue for this exhibition of paintings by local artist Sue Callan.

Sue hails from a townland called Annaghad which is located in Culloville, Co Armagh.

Following retirement in 2006, she decided to try her hand at Art classes and subsequently joined a class in Mullaghbawn. She enjoyed the classes and acknowledges the assistance from her Art teacher Dianne McKevitt who has been a constant guiding force since day one. The works on show illustrate a landscape rich in hues of green, blue and grey, and the scenes depict the beauty of the island of Ireland. There are also some works featuring animals on farms and on the land.

She specialises working with acrylic paints and likes to paint old buildings and scenery throughout the local area.

Sue says “ Local landmarks such as Kinghams Mill and Culloville Railway Station have inspired many of my works to date. I regard painting to be an excellent pastime and I look forward to re-creating in the future many great landmarks and scenery from throughout the country”.

The exhibition is on view from now until 28th September, and all works are for sale.
