The Department of Finance and Personnel in co-operation with The Office of Public Works announce the opening of UNFOLD An Exhibition of Contemporary Art at The Sean Hollywood Arts Centre, 1a Bank Parade, Newry on Thursday 4th September 2014, between  7-8.30 pm.

The exhibition continues until 10th October 2014.

The Sean Hollywood Arts Centre is delighted to host this extraordinary exhibition of Contemporary works gathered together in this touring exhibition.  UNFOLD is an exhibition curated by nine digital media students from  the Institute of Technology Tallaght.  Importantly, the exhibition is the culmination of many connections, individual, collective and artistic.  The inaugural “Young Curators” project has bound Minister Brian Hayes, RUA  RED, The Office of Public Works, The Department of Finance and Personnel of  Northern Ireland, The Institute of Technology Tallaght and, of course, the nine curators together under the common goal of curation.  

Collaboration  lies at the heart of the project and the nine students have demonstrated a determination towards the  development of community engaged cultural practices.

The artists showcased include, Ross Wilson, Tom Dalton, Mary McIntyre, Basil Blackshaw and Brian Ferran to name just a few. At presenthe 'Unfold' exhibition runs in RUA RED from August 1st to 30th. It then tours to Newry from followed by Stormont Parliament Buildings, Belfast from mid-October and finishes in The Courthouse Gallery, Ennistymon, Co. Clare from December to mid January 2015.
